Disha Khandelwal: SCMC’s Budding Entrepreneur!
The Entrepreneurship-Cell from IIT-Bombay, recently hosted the South Asia largest Business Model Competition - “Eureka!” SCMC batch of 2022’s Disha Khandelwal, and her startup Bikes24x7, clinched 2nd place in the competition, securing a cash prize of 2 lakhs!
A tough competition indeed, Eureka received approximately 3,000 applicants who were asked to send in presentations of their startup models.
By September, when applications and presentations were due for Eureka, Bikes24x7 was already earning revenue. Smooth operations let Disha’s startup sail into the semi-finals, along with 150 other teams. Semifinalists were given mentors, who were individuals, experienced and fluent in the language of business. Bikes24x7’s mentor advised the team on how to craft a proper investor plan, and how to make a crisp and concise business plan. His guidance made him an integral part of the team, leading them to success as well as becoming Bikes24x7’s official team member after Eureka ended.
When asked about Bikes24x7’s future plans post-win, Disha revealed that they “want to expand and get a foothold in Pune by establishing a strong operation here” and aim to “capture the second-hand two-wheeler market by the end of the year,” along with multi-city expansion in the future.
