SCMC is housed in an award-winning building in the Viman Nagar Campus of Symbiosis International University in Pune. Located close to the airport in a place buzzing with life and activity, its offers undergraduate students the dual advantage of a tranquil learning environment nestled in an area that has all amenities and conveniences of a modern city, away from the chaos.
Seminar Halls
These host regular lectures, demonstration classes and examinations and are provided with overhead LCD projectors and public-address systems.
Screening Rooms
For lectures and AV screenings, these are acoustically sealed, split air-conditioned mini-auditoriums with wall-to-wall carpeting and provided with overhead LCD projection systems and Dolby / DTS 7.1 surround sound systems.
Shooting Floor
The shooting floor along with a Production Control Room (PCR) is acoustically sealed and air- conditioned. It is equipped with lighting equipment including Canara overhead moveable lighting grid with cool flood lights, spotlights, Kino lights, shadow casters & light meters. It has multiple digital cameras (Panasonic DVX102, Panasonic AG-AF100 & Canon 5D Mark III with lenses). It also has a Teleprompter for news reading, apart from a multi-channel digital audio mixer.
Post-Production Suite & Laboratory
These consists of four air-conditioned cubicles as well as a post-production laboratory equipped with non- linear edit systems to provide professional level post-production facilities. There are four MacPro machines with FCP and 10 iMac machines with Adobe Premier CS5. Additional software includes Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop & FCE.
Sound Recording Suite
The air-conditioned and acoustically balanced practical-demo suite has an industry-standard multi-track sound recording and reproduction set-up. It is equipped with audio mixing consoles like Yamaha MG166cx, Xenyx 802, Yamaha MG82cx & Eurorack UB880. The suite also has a pair of powered audio monitors - Yamaha HS80M and two pairs of Yamaha MSP3. Nuendo 5 is the preferred audio software used to record and reproduce recorded audio files here.
Photography Studio
The air-conditioned photography studio combines both manual and digital facilities. It has the latest SLR & DSLR cameras with all types of professional lenses, tripods & other accessories. The studio is equipped with professional studio lights, light meters and other essential lighting equipment apart from a motorised backdrop changer. It also has an iMac with the latest photo editing software for digital imagery.
Computer Laboratory
The air-conditioned computer laboratory has 39 terminals and an overhead LCD projector. The laboratory is fully networked and provides high-speed broadband connectivity, with power back-up. A variety of Publishing, Post Production and Design Technology software are available. The entire SCMC campus is Wi-Fi enabled. All desktops and server are fully protected with up-to-date anti-virus software.
Library
The library and has a well-stocked collection of books, covering a broad range of technical and non-technical subjects pertaining to mass media and communication management. We subscribe to a wide assortment of national and international newspapers, magazines and journals, and other publications. The students also have access to two online databases – TVAD Index and United News of India.

Journalism Newsroom & Digital Marketing Lab
The Journalism Newsroom Lab is a dedicated facility for all kinds of news production — print, broadcast and digital. We have computers equipped with the latest software as well as broadcast news post production facilities.
The Digital Marketing Lab is intended to provide students the experience of using industry related software in advertising and public relations and help them to hone their skills in broader areas such as creating content, blogging, designing, media monitoring, branding strategies.

The library has a well-stocked collection of books, covering a broad range of technical and non-technical subjects pertaining to mass media and communication management. We subscribe to a wide assortment of national and international newspapers, e-magazines and online streaming such as Netflix and amazon Prime. The students also have access to online databases subscribed by institutional library as well as central library. There is a separate section of Digital library in the library that students can get access of e-resources.
We have an audio-visual library with an extensive collection of Indian and foreign classic films, documentaries, radio and television programmes in English, Hindi and other foreign/regional languages.
SCMC library using the Koha software which is a web-based integrated library system capable of managing a wide range of administrative processes typically found in modern libraries, cataloguing, serials management, circulation, acquisitions, reporting, etc.

General Rules
- Identity card is mandatory when you visit library.
- Silence has to be maintained at all times in the library.
- Eatable and drinks are not allowed inside the library
- Use of mobile inside the library is prohibited.
- Students can borrow up to three books at a time for 15 days
- Reference books and Journals / Magazines will not be issued; but are available for study within the Library
- In case a member wish to bring his/her personal reading resources to the library premises; he/she has to inform the library staff and seek permission for the same.
- Readers should not mark / tear/misuse/damage the reading material/library property. If found so he/she will be charge for replace/pay full value for the loss and may lead to debar from library.
- On leaving the Library, users are required to show books and other items being taken out of the Library.
- The library staff on duty has the right to request a user to leave the Library premises if he/she is found to be violating any of the library rules.

Security
The Viman Nagar Campus which houses SCMC boasts of a safe and secure environment with Security Guards with handheld metal detectors at the entry gate and undercarriage checking equipment, CCTV surveillance, restricted entry points, entry with Institution Identity Card or with Visitor’s Pass and round-the-clock security with CCTV Cameras covering Entrance gates/Corridors.
Counselling Room
SCMC follows the SIU philosophy of being a health-promoting University with an emphasis on mental health and well-being and thus has a dedicated counselling room for students and staff where Symbiosis Centre for Emotional Wellbeing's team of Psychiatrists and Psychological Counsellors provides individual psychotherapy, group and family counselling sessions, as well as psychiatric consultations on the campus.
Common Room
The campus also provides a common room for girls to carry out recreational and relaxing activities.
Healthcare
The Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) is the in-house healthcare service provider for the entire Symbiosis family. Established in 1997 with the mission of ensuring "positive health" for all staff and students of the University, the SCHC provides preventive, curative and promotive health care services.
The SCHC conducts annual health-checkups for students, pre-employment checkups for staff, provides online health and diet counseling, and facilitates medical insurance coverage for all staff and students. It also organizes health education seminars, workshops and awareness camps .
SCHC offers Out Patient Department services at all campuses of Symbiosis. A team of specialist doctors are available for consultation.
At the Viman Nagar campus the SCHC is open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. It manages the health club and fitness centre for students providing training facilities for strength, endurance, flexibility and cardio vascular fitness, besides Yoga and Meditation.

Auditorium
A state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of 585 hosts our lecture-demonstrations, cultural programmes and other large events. It is both aesthetically and acoustically well designed, is well-furnished and has full capacity generator backup.
Amphitheatre and Campus Plaza
A signature feature of our campus building, the centrally located, open-air Amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 200 hosts our gatherings and recreational activities.
Gymnasium, Yoga, Aerobics
We have a well-equipped gymnasium, an aerobics floor and a ‘Yogshala’ for the use of students. There are instructors and trainers at the facilities for help and support. The timings are: 6.00 am to 9.00 am and 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
Sports
The Symbiosis Viman Nagar Campus has a large sports ground with sporting facilities for Athletics, Football, Cricket and Basketball
Dining
The cafeteria, which has a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dining options, snacks and beverages, is open from 9.00 am to 5 pm.
In addition there is a popular Juice Bar on campus that offers fresh fruit juices, milkshakes and fruit platters.
Café Coffee Day also has an express outlet within the campus offering light snacks and hot beverages.
Store and ATM
The Rangoli store on campus is the go-to place for stationery and other student needs. There’s a photocopier service and a fully serviced Corporation Bank ATM on campus.
Symbiosis Viman Nagar Campus Hostel
Hostel Facility for SCMC Students
The Symbiosis Viman Nagar campus currently has three hostel wings— four for female students (with a total capacity of 1417), and two for male students (with a capacity of 118).
These hostels are located within walking, or easy commuting distance of the campus and are available to students from SCMC and other institutes in the Viman Nagar Campus — the Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS), Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), Symbiosis Law School (SLS) and Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts (SSLA).
The places for each institute are allocated in proportion to the student intake. The allotment is on a first-come-first-served basis and is dependent on vacancies at the hostel.
However, there are many residential areas, apartment complexes and housing societies around Viman Nagar, close to or within a short commuting distance from the campus, that provide shared or PG accommodation for students, both male and female.

Located in Sakore Nagar this facility has a total capacity of 170 students and is within walking distance of the campus. It offers twin sharing accommodation.
B & C Wings Girls’ Hostel.
These are adjacent to each other and located in the Rohan Mithila residential complex at a distance of 1.5 kms from the campus. The B wing has triple sharing rooms and C wing offers both twin and triple sharing accommodation.
All hostel rooms have attached bathrooms and each student has the use of a bed, a mattress, a pillow, a table, a chair and a cupboard. Vegetarian, Non-vegetarian and Eggetarian meal options are available.
The Symbiosis hostels have a very strictly enforced code of conduct and defaulting students face disciplinary action as per existing SIU rules, including expulsion for serious offences.
